Before your appointment

A few things will help your signing go smoothly.

Please review this list before the appointment. If you are unsure whether your identification or document will work, ask when scheduling so we can address it ahead of time.

Have acceptable identification ready

Each signer should have a current, government-issued photo ID. The name on the ID should reasonably match the name shown on the document.

Bring the complete document

Have every page available, even if some pages do not require a signature. Please do not sign ahead of time unless we have confirmed that your notarial act allows it.

Make sure every signer is present and ready

Each signer must appear willingly, be alert, and understand the document they are signing. We cannot choose a document, complete it for you, or provide legal advice.

Confirm any witness requirements

If your document requires witnesses, confirm before the appointment whether you or Signed by Madison will arrange them. Witnesses may also need identification.

Provide a safe signing space

Please have a clean, well-lit surface available and secure pets before the appointment—even friendly ones—so everyone can focus and the appointment stays safe.
